gelato. yum!

location:
Don Bosco in Makati (across Waltermart), and Tomas Morato in Quezon City
dish: italian
my take:
nice, clean place. mejo sosyal-looking from the outside. Kinda reminds me of Amalfi Pizzeria in Frankfurt, only bigger and better and newer. Hehe! the one in makati, though, is not your typical resto - more of a canteen-type.

They have basement parking if the parking slots outside are full. You gotta pay Php 40, though. Don’t forget to have your parking ticket validated by the guard (who also happens to be an all-around guy haha!). If you didn’t get it validated, you’ll pay PhP 500 (funny, coz when you lose the ticket, you’d only pay PhP 300).

It’s not the usual cozy Italian resto we know. ‘Pay as you order’ concept applies. They do accept cards, by the way. They do have servers, but still, you gotta serve yourself, i.e. you have to get your own plates, spoon/fork/knife, condiments, water, ice, tissue….

I sooo love Italian, and so if you are a pasta/pizza/gelato freak then this place is for you. Their pasta ranges from Php 130-200 per serving. Good for 1, but if you're not a heavy eater, 1 serving may be good for 2. Thin crust pizza costs Php 200-360 - may be good for 2-3 persons. Gelato (they don’t sell Toblerone anymore) costs Php 45 – 50 per cup. Their ensaymada and other pastries taste good, too.

  1. What? No more toblerone gelato??? Too bad wasn't able to try that. I have heard so much about this place. Good Italian food at good prices. This is in my "to visit" list.
